The programme was held over two consecutive days, July 28 and 29. The Muwailih District Council hosted the first day's events, while the Al Suyoh District Council hosted the second day's events, with the participation of residents from the area.
On this occasion, Dr Fatima Al Marzouqi, Director of the Child and Family Protection Centre, emphasised that the programme targeted residents of the area to familiarise them with the 800700 hotline, the emergency hotline, and the target groups for the Child and Family Protection Centre's services, which include children and those lacking social care.
The 800700 helpline was established in 2007 to receive reports concerning children at risk and victims of all kinds of abuse. A specialised team handles these reports, working to remove the danger to the child and provide them with the necessary protection.
The 800700 helpline is the first free hotline dedicated to child protection in the United Arab Emirates and the first in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. It is a member of both CHI and ISPICAN, and its services have been expanded under Social Welfare Law No. (6) of 2020 to include all categories of those lacking social care.
