Mauritanian ALC hosts a symposium on Quranic Language

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Arabic Language Academy (ALA) took part in a linguistic symposium titled "The Language of the Quran: Nouakchott African Approach" on the occasion of the inauguration of the Arabic Language Council's (ALC) new headquarters in Nouakchott, Mauritania. This event was held under the auspices of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and the ruler of Sharjah, and the Supreme President of the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy.

Mohammed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, General Secretary of the Arabic Language Academy, moderated the lecture. He emphasised the significance of His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's support, which was demonstrated by the inauguration of the Arabic Language Council's new headquarters in Mauritania. This gesture indicated His Highness' thorough knowledge of the historical and ongoing roles performed by researchers and scholars in Mauritania in establishing linguistic and Islamic studies across the African continent.

Dr Khalil Al Nahwi, Director of the Arabic Language Council in Mauritania, thanked His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi for his unwavering support for Arabic language endeavours. This support seeks to strengthen the position of the Arabic language, Arab culture, and Islamic culture across the world while helping to consolidate it among their adherents.

Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director-General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority and member of the Sharjah Arabic Language Academy's Board of Trustees, delivered a speech in which he conveyed greetings from His Highness Sheikh Dr Sultan to the participants. He underlined the Sharjah Academy's and the Language Council's cooperation efforts, concentrating on Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi's aim of promoting the Arabic language in Africa.
