Sharjah 24: Mauritanian director, Sali Abdelfattah, praised the performances of the eighth edition of the Sharjah Desert Theatre Festival (SDTF), which are held from December 13 to 17, with the participation of 5 countries, in Al Kahif area.
He praised the role of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, in supporting Mauritanian theatre and Arab culture in general, noting that the SDTF has allowed the Hassani folk heritage in Mauritania to be presented to the public, and this hosting supports theatre in Mauritania, stressing "and for this we are very grateful."

He explained, in statements to "Sharjah 24", that the theatrical performance "Al Hakem" concluded the eighth edition of the SDTF. It is a story inspired by the Mauritanian heritage, and it is the tale of the wise man, who used to escape from bandits and thieves because of his intelligence, adding “so we tried to draw inspiration from it and bring it to this spacious space.”
