Sharjah's ALA Unveils Seventh Linguistic Council

Sharjah24: The seventh session of the Linguistic Council, held at the Arabic Language Academy (ALA) in Sharjah, featured the Syrian literary figure and poet Ahmed Diab. He discussed his literary journey and underscored the significance of an educational setting rooted in literature for enhancing the cognitive abilities of succeeding generations. In attendance were Mohamed Safi Al Mosteghanemi, Secretary General of (ALA), along with a distinguished audience comprising academics, educators, intellectuals, and researchers. Dr. Baha Dandis from the Arabic Language Academy moderated the dialogue.
During his presentation at the Seventh Linguistic Council, Dr. Mohamed Safi Al Mosteghanemi stressed the importance of shedding light on the experiences of emerging talents in the literary world and acknowledging their distinctive contributions to enriching the Arabic literary landscape. He expressed, "Through the Linguistic Council, our aim is to discover talents and inspire enthusiasts of poetry and literature to delve deeper into their understanding of the Arabic language, exploring its intricacies and secrets."

Ahmed Diab, the literary figure and poet, shared insights into his poetic journey that commenced in his formative years. He noted the interconnectedness of the Arabic language with his artistic abilities in Arabic calligraphy and playing the oud, contributing to the enhancement of the beauty of Arabic poetry.

In discussing the crucial role of poetry in the education of youth, Ahmed Diab emphasised the significance of incorporating poetry into educational curricula. He affirmed that Emirati curricula lead in this aspect by providing students with opportunities to derive knowledge and insight through engagement with poetry.
