SBA reveals its plan to cover SIBF

The SBA has made use of all its television and radio channels and digital media in order to place the viewer at the heart of this huge cultural event that makes Sharjah every year a true book capital.

Sharjah TV's major coverage begins by broadcasting the SIBF’s opening ceremony live. The channel also broadcasts a large number of its programmes from the event venue, as a special studio has been prepared for this purpose in the Expo Centre for meeting with writers, publishing houses and organisers. In addition other channels in television and radio will cover different aspects of the event. 

His Excellency Mohammed Hassan Khalaf, Director General of the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority (SBA), confirmed that the SBA seeks, through its coverage of the SIBF, to transfer the experience of the Emirate of Sharjah and its cultural project, which was founded by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to the global arena, celebrating the exceptional character of the SIBF, which everyone confirms in every edition that it is one of the most prominent book fairs in the world.

His Excellency added that SBA have developed an integrated plan to cover this important cultural event, and the authority’s channels, radio stations and digital platforms will allocate specialised media teams to cover the various events and activities at the SIBF by using the latest technologies and equipment to ensure distinguished and high-quality transmission.

His Excellency highlighted that the SBA seeks to provide an important space for interviews and direct intellectual discussions with writers and intellectuals participating in the SIBF and the visiting public. This will allow the SBA to provide interactive coverage that the SBA hopes will be admired by the wide audience. The SBA also hopes that these efforts will contribute to the success of this great cultural event in the Emirate of Sharjah.
