In this regard, Khawla Al Serkal, Director General of the Sharjah Ladies Club, and the member of the Board of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society, said that it is within the framework of the Sharjah Ladies Club’s contribution to supporting community and health initiatives in the Emirate of Sharjah, and to consolidate the Emirate’s position, being accredited for the second time as a healthy city, which enhances its position as a global beacon for health care, the club and its branches will participate in the activities of the “Pink October” campaign, with the aim of spreading the concepts and behaviors of sound health culture among members of the society, strengthening efforts aimed at preventing breast cancer, increasing the level of awareness among women of the dangers of this disease, and encouraging them to perform early checkup for prevention purposes through conducting regular medical examinations, while maintaining healthy eating habits and following a healthy and sustainable lifestyle.
Al Serkal confirmed the cooperation between the club and its branches with a group of governmental and community institutions, hospitals, health centers and medical clinics.
Accordingly, a diverse plan of programs and events has been developed to accompany the campaign through health lectures, sports and recreational activities, and awareness workshops directed at women and girls.
Mediclinic and WellCare Hospitals will provide free examinations for the club’s employees and visitors, in addition to discounts on their services. They will also offer awareness workshops. On the other hand, the club’s branches will offer discounts on monthly memberships for members. In addition, they will offer discounts on club’s branches’ facility services fees during the campaign days.
Dalouk Spa, Orchid Boutique, Collage Talent Center, 180 Fitness Center, Marasi Restaurant, and Ibdaa’ Center will offer a package of discounts and competitive offers on their services throughout October, and they will conduct educational lectures and various events.
As part of the campaign activities, the club took the initiative to provide a designated space to display and sell the products of the Friends of Cancer Patients Society, with the aim of supporting the efforts of the society and its active members.
