Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Department of Town Planning and Survey (SDTPS) launched the “Digital Transformation Using Web 3.0” project, during its participation in the Sharjah Government’s pavilion at GITEX Global 2023. The project is a qualitative leap into the world of the metaverse, to complete transactions without reaching the department’s building.
Majed Katara Al Shamsi, Head of the Land Registration Department of the SDTPS, stated that the Department launched the “Digital Transformation Using Web 3.0” project, during its participation in the Sharjah Government’s pavilion at GITEX Global 2023. This project is a qualitative leap into the world of the metaverse, as it will avail to citizens the opportunity to explore all the services provided by the department in a virtual and real way.

Speaking exclusively to Sharjah 24, Majed Katara confirmed that one of the services offered by the project is land exchange service, where citizens will be able to display their lands, receive available offers, and complete exchange transactions with ease through the world of the metaverse. In addition, SDTPS employees will have the opportunity to hold their meetings and training courses in the real meeting rooms available in the Metaverse, which will enhance interaction and cooperation between working teams.

Al Shamsi added that this step comes within the framework of the use of advanced technology in DTPS, and the department will also adopt “Blockchain” technology and smart contracts in the web platform to improve workflow and enhance transparency and security in transactions. The department also looks forward to facilitating administrative procedures and providing easy and reliable services for citizens, under these modern and innovative technologies.
