Sharjah24 : The Sharjah Awqaf Department has announced its partnership with the Central Finance Department in Sharjah to integrate with the "Tahseel" digital payment portal. This collaboration enables the general public to securely contribute to endowment projects through various channels, including credit cards, global wallets such as Samsung Pay, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, as well as direct bank account withdrawals.
The formal joining ceremony took place at the Sharjah Awqaf Department's headquarters and was attended by prominent figures, including His Excellency Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Director of the Sharjah Finance Department and His Excellency Taleb Ibrahim Al Marri, Director General of the Department of Awqaf in Sharjah, along with other officials.
Sheikh Rashid bin Saqr Al Qasimi emphasised the department's dedication to expanding the range of institutions and organisations joining the Tahseel platform. He encouraged them to make the most of the advanced financial services offered by the department, which caters to both government entities and active community organisations involved in charitable and humanitarian efforts.
Al Qasimi explained that the inclusion of the Sharjah Awqaf Department in the platform aligns with the department's strategic objectives and its role in achieving organisational agility and effective governance. This encompasses financial transactions and processes, such as fee payments, fund collection, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers. He highlighted that this move would streamline and simplify financial procedures for the public.
Talib Al Merri stated, "The Awqaf Department is committed to embracing modern technology and digital transformation as part of its ongoing endeavours to stay abreast of rapid developments. This step represents a significant and pioneering effort to promote digital payments, streamline financial operations, and notably enhance the efficiency of fund management, payment processing, and collection."
The Sharjah Awqaf Department is the first charitable organisation to join the "Tahseel" platform, and there are no additional charges associated with the payment methods. Furthermore, the department offers a variety of digital payment channels through its website to cater to all users and provide them with additional choices when contributing to endowments.
