Sharjah 24: In a creative dual celebration, Al Hamriyah Municipality celebrated return to school and Emirati Women's Day by organising an educational event that included a visit to a number of schools, while honouring teachers and those in charge of education. The two events coincided with the resumption of studies, the start of the new academic year 2023-2024 and the celebration of Emirati Women's Day.
The teachers at Al Qalla School were honoured, in appreciation of the role and contributions of Emirati women to the development and renaissance of the UAE.
The celebration was in conjunction with Emirati Women's Day, which falls on August 28, and in the presence of Dr. Maitha Majid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Qalla School, the teaching and administrative staff, and the employees of Al Hamriyah Municipality.
The occasion aimed at encouraging Emirati women to continue achieving the highest gains for themselves and their society, shaping the future of Emirati women in a way that ensures their achievements sustainability and active participation in preserving sustainability for future generations.
On the occasion of Emirati Women's Day, held this year under the theme "We Collaborate for Tomorrow", His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, presented souvenirs to all female employees of Al Hamriyah Municipality from different departments, expressing his thanks and appreciation for their efforts, stressing their important role in community development.
His Excellency Mubarak Rashid Al Shamsi said that women are essential partners in advancing sustainable development, and they are educators for generations and an important pillar in building and developing society.
Al Shamsi expressed that this day comes to shed light on the belief in the distinguished societal role and the contribution of the daughter of the Emirates and a result of empowering women in the Emirate of Sharjah thanks to the vision and care His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, that aim to empower women and enhance their presence in different fields.
Al Shamsi pointed out that Emirati women occupy an advanced position among their Arab, regional and international counterparts. Al Shamsi stressed that the leadership of the UAE has harnessed all capabilities and resources for the daughter of the Emirates to be a pioneer in leadership, innovation and creativity, confident in her capabilities, believing in her mission, proud of her achievements, stressing the celebration of this occasion in appreciation of her vital role and great contributions to the development and progress of the UAE.
Female employees of Al Hamriyah Municipality confirmed that the municipality's initiative comes within the framework of celebrating the achievements of Emirati women and their successes in all national fields, their role in development and the country's renaissance.
The school principal and teachers were honoured at Al Qalaa School for Girls, in addition to presenting a commemorative shield specially prepared for this occasion, in addition to presenting souvenirs to all school teachers.
