Eng. Hamda Al Shamsi and Eng. Neela Al Shamsi, employees of the Engineering Department of Al Hamriyah Municipality, presented the interactive workshops, which saw a great response and remarkable interaction from children and adolescents, boys and girls, participating in the two workshops. Innovative workshops included design and recycling, and gave participants a space for creative thinking in easy and simple steps that suit their age groups.
Eng. Hamda Al Shamsi and Eng. Neela Al Shamsi explained that participants received training, in the first workshop, on making paper fans from recycled papers and colouring the fans with wax crayons and coloured paper. As for the “flower collar” workshop, participants learned about flower arrangement, reflecting their artistic tastes in creative touches in harmony with the colours and sizes of flowers.
The workshop organisers from the Engineering Department of Al Hamriyah Municipality were keen to include recreational activities for children during the workshops. They were also keen to highlight the importance of preserving the environment from the risks of pollution, introduce the importance of recycling papers in protecting the environment, with a remarkable creative touch, to develop children's talents and make sure it is an opportunity to spend a fun time that combines entertainment and skill acquisition that develop their talents and hobbies.
Eng. Hamda Al Shamsi and Eng. Neela Al Shamsi stressed the importance of the diversity of programmes and activities presented within the activities of the Summer Forum in Al Hamriyah, with the aim of investing the energies of young people during the summer vacation, providing advanced skills, enriching their knowledge, expanding their perceptions, and enhancing their culture in different topics that benefit them and their community.
