The workshop saw an exciting interaction between the participants, who enthusiastically participated in colouring the traditional chimneys. The workshop also provided an opportunity for the participants to express their creativity and artistic skills by decorating the chimneys with bright colours and innovative shapes, which reflects the diversity and richness of the inherited folklore. The municipality provided all the necessary technical materials for the participants.
Al Hamriyah Municipality is planning to organise more artistic and diverse events and workshops during the summer, as part of its commitment to community outreach.
Aisha Omran Al Ketbi from the Engineering Department of Al Hamriyah Municipality, presented the artistic workshop, where the participants, children and adolescents, were introduced to the art of colouring chimneys and vases, and the use of bright colours, according to easy and simple steps, explained in the lecture, to suit their age groups.
Aisha Omran Al Ketbi indicated that the workshop nourishes the children artistic taste, expands their perceptions of visual and performing arts, and enhances their creative ability to express.
Al Ketbi emphasised that the workshop reflected the commitment of Al Hamriyah Municipality to promoting local culture and heritage in innovative and entertaining ways.
Al Ketbi reiterated that colouring contributed to achieving a number of benefits due to their great role in child development, perception, writing, expression, stimulation towards creativity and the power of concentration, in addition colouring harmonises hands and eyes movements.
Al Ketbi concluded that the workshop improves the level of learning, understanding and communication of ideas, in addition to strengthening the linkage of Al Hamriyah Summer affiliates with popular heritage.
