Sharjah 24: Al Hamriyah Municipality remains committed to its community initiative, launched to celebrate the onset of summer, demonstrating its social responsibility towards the local community by distributing dates from the palm trees of Al Hamriyah city to its residents, including the elderly population.
This initiative coincides with the abundant date season, which brings joy to citizens as it signals the arrival of summer, evoking a wealth of stories and memories, particularly among the elderly.
His Excellency Mubarak Rashed Al Shamsi, Director of Al Hamriyah Municipality, emphasises the importance of preserving heritage and folk traditions through this annual initiative, which has become a cherished custom among the Emirati community, fostering happiness and hope for the season.
The success of the date season in Al Hamriyah can be attributed to the constant care and maintenance of palm trees, green spaces, and vegetable crops. This dedication results in ample date production, making dates a vital agricultural product widely embraced by every Emirati household for their nutritional benefits and long-term storage potential.
