The workshop, held at the Sharjah Police Sciences Academy (PSA), was attended by 35 volunteer children aged 6 to 12 years old.
During the interactive workshop, children learned the process of recycling plastic water bottles and turning them into food baskets for birds, in an innovative way that contributes to protecting the environment, in addition to presenting examples of voluntary ideas that children can implement, such as beach cleaning campaigns and others.
Sheikha Al Serkal, Coordinator of Community Awareness Participation at Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work, highlighted the importance of volunteering by providing examples of successful experiences of individuals and communities who, through volunteering, were able to make a positive change in their surroundings.
Fatima Musa, Executive Director of the Award, expressed her happiness with the children's participation in the workshop, noting that it is part of the efforts of the Sharjah Award for Voluntary Work and integration with other institutions in order to raise children's awareness of the importance of volunteer work and its role in achieving positive change.
