SEWA, SCTDA discuss strengthening cooperation

Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) received a delegation from the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority (SCTDA) to discuss ways to enhance joint cooperation to support commercial and tourism activities and events in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The two sides also discussed ways to develop commercial and tourist activities sectors, review the authority’s efforts in supporting tourism, commercial projects and sustainable development, and develop innovative and sustainable solutions for the production and management of energy and the use of modern technologies thus enhancing the emirate's position at the local, regional and global levels.

The SCTDA delegation, headed the chairman Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, was received by Saeed Sultan Al Suwaidi, Chairman of SEWA, and Abdullah Abdul Rahman Al Shamsi, Director General of the Authority. Dr. Engineer Hassan Al Zarouni, Director of Distribution Department at SEWA was also present at the meeting.

During the meeting, SEWA chairman confirmed that the authority is working to implement the vision and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, to unite efforts and adopt joint action to develop all sectors in the emirate.

He explained that the authority is keen to provide all potentials that would develop the tourism sector in all its aspects, and to promote and enhance Sharjah’s competitiveness to attract foreign investments.

Al Shamsi confirmed that clear and specific strategies and continuous coordination between government agencies contributed to strengthening the emirate's position and classifying it among the most prestigious and distinguished commercial and tourist destinations in the world.

He praised the efforts of the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority in organising ongoing events and participating in international activities to place Sharjah among the most important tourist destinations locally, regionally and globally.
