Sharjah 24: Dr Khamis Al Zaabi, who is in charge of drafting recommendations for the Sharjah Consultative Council, shared that during their recent meeting, the Council focused on improving transportation in Sharjah. One of the key ideas discussed was setting up a group to help different agencies work together better. They also talked about using new technologies and artificial intelligence to help predict traffic patterns and find solutions to traffic issues.

Dr Al Zaabi mentioned some specific recommendations from the Council, such as considering a change in truck and heavy vehicle routes to keep them off Emirates Road and redirect them to Al Watan Road. They also suggested creating special lanes for buses to prioritize public transport, and improving the road system to include proper drainage to prevent flooding and ensure smooth traffic flow. Additionally, the Council emphasized the importance of working with relevant authorities to come up with new laws that could help alleviate traffic congestion.
