Sharjah 24: Sharjah Electricity, Water and Gas Authority (SEWA) completed the lighting project on Al Rahmaniya - Al Zubair Street according to the best standards, whereas the SEWA installed 271 sodium light poles, and extended 25 kilometres of electric cables.
Engineer Ahmed Al Bass, Deputy Director of the Electricity Distribution Department, confirmed that the implementation of this project contributed to improving the traffic safety and aesthetics of the street.

Engineer Ahmed Al Bass explained that there are a number of criteria that are taken into account when designing the lighting network in any area, whereas secondary and main roads and highways are different. He continued by saying that they are different whether in terms of the distances between the poles or their height.

Engineer Ahmed Al Bass indicated that the work teams in the Electricity Services Department are working on designing, approving and implementing lighting networks after studying and checking the project, in terms of street length, width and the appropriate lighting, determining the types and capabilities of searchlights, the length of poles, the distances separating them in proportion to the road size and type.

Engineer Ahmed Al Bass added that SEWA continues to provide the best services to all areas in Sharjah, pointing out that lighting projects are among the vital and necessary projects that decorate the streets and achieve security and safety for residents and vehicle drivers.
