Sharjah 24: The curtain was brought down on the summer tournament competitions organised by the Chess and Culture Club for Sharjah Women, in cooperation with the Mughaider Suburb Council, which hosted the event over two days, with the participation of more than 70 male and female players.
Filipino Marvin Marcos achieved won the championship cup with 8 points from 9 rounds.
Alia Al Mazmi, head of the club's technical committee, expressed her happiness with the success of the tournament, thanking the Mughaider Suburb Council headed by Nasser Ashour, who hosted the event, and all the players who participated in the competitions, stressing that such tournaments have many goals, including spreading the game in the neighbourhoods and suburbs of the Emirate of Sharjah, as well as increasing the club's players interacting with different chess schools, and also preparing for tournaments in which the club participates during the summer.
Al Mazmi explained that the club's agenda includes many tournaments throughout the season, including international classified ones.
