CCCSW wins chess excellence shield for 2022

Sharjah 24: The Chess and Culture Club for Sharjah Women (CCCSW) led the closing ceremony of the 2022 season, organised by the UAE Chess Federation in the Dubai Chess and Culture Club hall, after receiving the general excellence shield for women, outperforming all women chess clubs.
The shield of excellence was received by Taryam Matar Taryam, President of the UAE Chess Federation, Her Excellency Naglaa Abdullah Al Shamsi, Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Chess and Culture Club for Sharjah Women, and Alia Al Mazmi, Head of the Club’s Technical Staff, in the presence of a number of the club’s players.

Winning the shield of excellence for women is a continuation of the club winning a large number of titles, whereas the club was the winner of the first place in the General League Championship for teams under 12 and 18 years old, second place under 10 years and 14 years old, and third place in the Women’s League, and in the Emirates Individual Chess Championship 2022. 

The Club was winner of the first place for girls under 10 years old, the first three places under 12 years old, the first, third and fourth places under 14 years old, the first place under 16 and 18 years old, and the second place under 18 years old.

The ceremony marked the honouring of Aisha Sarhan Al Muaini, the player of the Club and the national team, after winning the bronze medal in the category of the World Chess Olympiad held in India in 2022 within the UAE women’s team.

Her Excellency Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Chess and Culture Club for Sharjah Women expressed her happiness that the Club's players have been coronated at the UAE level, which encourages the Club to continue the path of achievements and confirms the success of the system followed by the club to develop the level of female players, whether by organising tournaments or participating in foreign tournaments.

Al Shamsi congratulated the players who won the first positions and said that such achievement adds to the responsibility of each and every one, whether the board of directors, the players, or the training and technical staff. Al Shamsi added that she has confidence in everyone to continue achieving the goals set by the Club.
