Sharjah 24: Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, in cooperation with the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, announced the launch of the Al Dhaid Ramadan International Blitz Chess Championship with the participation of 160 players from 30 countries.
Omar Noman Al Ali, Assistant Secretary-General of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club revealed that the event was launched in the presence of 10 senior international chess professionals.
He told “Sharjah 24” that the tournament is part of a series of competitions that are organised to spread the chess sport in the regions and cities of the Emirate of Sharjah.
The launch of the competition was attended by Salem Mohammed bin Howiden Al Ketbi, Chairman of the Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club, and several members from Al Dhaid Club and Sharjah Cultural Chess Club.
