Sharjah24: The Director of Branches Department at the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW), Engineer Abdullah Al-Taniji, stated to "Sharjah 24" that the department is nearly finished with all construction activities for the new Livestock Market project in Khorfakkan. The deadline for completion and delivery to "Osool" is set for June 25th, just in time for the Eid Al-Adha holiday.
According to Al-Taniji, the market also features 29 retail outlets and 44 barns for housing animals, including cattle and sheep. Twenty-one of the stores will focus on selling birds and poultry, while the other eight will sell other types of feed for animals. The market also has its own set of administrative buildings and infrastructure.
The new municipal abattoir in Khor Fakkan is located nearby, and Al-Taniji noted that the market is being built in a separate, non-residential location from the surrounding suburbs. The goal is to provide a one-stop shop for consumers by handling every step of the process, from procurement to inspection to slaughter, under the watchful eye of the proper authorities.
