Sharjah24: Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, the sixth session of the Dibba Al Hisn Festival for Dual Theatre was inaugurated in the Dibba Al Hisn Cultural Center on Friday in the presence of Abdullah Al Owais, Head of the Department of Culture, and Ahmed Burhaima, Director of Department theater management, festival director .
Abdullah Al Owais greeted the directors and directors of the competing teams on stage at the start of the event and gave them the greetings of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah.
On the occasion of the new session, Al Owais said, "The Festival completes with its intellectual and training performances and activities the honors and efforts of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah in supporting and inspiring theater and playwrights in the UAE and the Arab world." AlOwais pointed out that the festival "gathers annually experiences and local and Arab theater names, and provides them with tangible opportunities to exchange experiences and ideas and build relationships and effective partnerships in order to advance and develop the march of Arab theater."
The audience of the first day witnessed the Emirati show "It Happened Once" by the Dibba Al-Hisn Heritage, Culture and Theater Troupe, which was prepared and directed by Muhannad Karim. The theater profession and the challenges facing its practitioners, both financially and morally.
Ahmed Sultan Suleiman Al Dhahouri, deputy of the Municipal Council of Dibba Al-Hisn, who sponsored the first day of the festival, presented a certificate of appreciation to the team of the play "It Happened Once".
