During the event, the club participated in a campaign to clean the island's creek, with the aim of raising health and environmental awareness among all members of society. The club also organised a fishing competition; swimming and kayak competition, and the search for pearls, in addition to organising the traditional rowing race, as well as the interesting shows (such as fly boarding and jet surfing). Sharjah International Marine Sports Club officials participated in the ceremonies for the release of sea turtles for reproduction and development of the local environment of the Sir Bu Nair Reserve.
The fishing competition saw a wide participation from different groups and received a large turnout, with the participation of 25 boats. Ammar Hashim Al-Houti won the first place with a catch weighing 300.35 kilogrammes, Rashid Al-Sultan won the second place with a catch weighing 129 kilogrammes, and Issa Khalifa Al Mazrouei won the third place with a catch weighing 79.9 kilogrammes. Al Hai Juma Al Rumaithi won the competition for catching the largest fish, weighing 19.80 kilogrammes.
