Sharjah 24: Ahmed Al Hosani, Director General of the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club, indicated that the club organised a cleaning campaign for the Sir Bu Nair Creek in cooperation with the Environment and Protected Areas Authority, the Sharjah Civil Defence and the Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority, with the aim of raising health and environmental awareness among community members.
Ahmed He said that the Sharjah International Marine Sports Club is participating in the Sir Bu Nair Festival in its 23rd edition with many activities and initiatives most notably swimming, kayak and fishing competitions, in addition to marine shows and an exhibition that includes all kinds of marine sports tools.
Al Hosani added that the aim of the initiative is to raise health and environmental awareness among members of society in general, and visitors to Sir Bu Nair Island in particular, and urge them to the importance of preserving the local marine environment, so that it helps beachgoers to relax in a healthy and safe environment.
