Sharjah24: The Arabic Language Educational Center for Gulf States in Sharjah (ALECGS) held its 11th meeting of the Board of Trustees on Thursday morning in Kuwait within its current session 2023/2024.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Dr. Eid Hamid Al Dhafiri, representative of Kuwait in the Council, and in the presence of Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi, Director of the Arabic Language Educational Center for Gulf States in Sharjah, along with representatives of the member states of the Arabic Language Educational Center for Gulf States  

Dr. Issa Saleh Al Hammadi gave a presentation which showed the center's achievements report during the last session 2021/2022, which included the approved programmes of the center for the session 2021/2022, as well as additional activities and programmes, including new publications in teaching and learning Arabic as well as organising and participating with organisations specialised in the Arabic language.

The most prominent conferences the center organised were the 5th and 6th International Arabic Language Conferences in January 2022 and February 2023. In addition, the training programmes were organised targeting specialists in the field of Arabic Language. In addition, the celebration of the International Day of the Arabic Language for the year 2020 was organised in 2021 and 2022

The center's director presented the projects for the current term, 2023/2024, and their plans.

What has been achieved of the center's approved programmes for the current term 2023/2024 were also presented.

In addition, a set of proposals for the center’s programmes for the 2023-2024 term were put forward for discussion, foremost among them: the appropriate date for holding the Arabic language competitions for its fifth edition in the current term and following the academic calendar for the students targeted for the competition in the member states of the Arabic Language Educational Center for Gulf States, as well as the poetry competition program And the story and the novel - the first session.

Al Hammadi reviewed the proposal of the Seventh International Conference on the Arabic Language, which the center will organise in January 2024, the procedures that have been completed, and the timetable for the implementation of the conference.
