The fertiliser factory is considered a major contributor to agricultural projects due to the organic fertilisers produced from proper disposal of waste, tree residues, organic waste, and more.
In this context, Obaid Saeed Al Teneiji, Director General of the Sharjah Municipality, emphasised that the municipality has worked to improve the air quality in the Saja'a area where the fertiliser factory is located, by reducing the emission of any odours resulting from recycling and organic fertiliser manufacturing. This has been achieved using eco-friendly technologies and aromatic oil materials, which are pumped into the factory's facilities, especially in the area of organic waste mixing and fertiliser turning. These materials react with the organic matter mixture and form an aromatic surface layer that reduces the emission of odours in that area or adjacent areas.
Al Teneiji explained that this aromatic oil layer reduces the emission of any odours or diffusion of fumes into the air without affecting the quality of the fertilisers. The pumps work to spray the aromatic material through special pipes for 24 hours in rotation without stopping.
The Director General of the Sharjah Municipality stated that the fertiliser factory is a major contributor to the success of agricultural projects. The agricultural process is carried out by mixing agricultural soil with the organic fertiliser produced by the municipality to meet the needs of agricultural projects and also to sell it to the public at nominal prices. The organic fertiliser is packed in specially designed eco-friendly plastic bags. He also noted that the factory produces over 77,000 tons annually.
