Sharjah Municipality organises 25294 inspection visits

Sharjah 24: During the first quarter of 2023, Sharjah Municipality (SM) organised 25294 inspection visits in all Sharjah's regions, to monitor negative behaviours affecting the general appearance or causing inconvenience to the residents.
The visits also aim at taking legal and administrative measures to enhance the aesthetic and civilised appearance of Sharjah, and to provide an ideal environment for residents and visitors. Municipal inspection teams and SM patrols work to deal quickly with reports and to work 24/7 for the comfort and safety of the community.

Khalifa Bughanim Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of the Control and Inspection Department at Sharjah Municipality, confirmed that the aesthetic appearance is one of the most important concerns of the Municipality that is always keen to preserve and enhance the Emirate's global position as an attractive city for living and spending the most enjoyable times, and a unique tourist destination for visitors and tourists from different countries of the world. Al Suwaidi added that continuous inspection visits are considered a priority for the municipality and a part of the continuous efforts educate the society being a major partner in preserving the aesthetic appearance of the Emirate.

Khalifa Bughanim Al Suwaidi explained that visits and campaigns aim to shut down informal markets, violating estates, neglected vehicles, and seize any prohibited materials, and other behaviours that negatively affect individuals, society, and the general appearance as a whole, indicating that the municipal inspection teams continue to work around the clock to monitor such behaviours and take the necessary measures.

The Acting Director of the Control and Inspection Department at Sharjah Municipality stated that the municipality seized during the first quarter of 2023 1,527 vehicles distorting the general appearance, whereas they were abandoned for long periods, at the same time, the municipality received 1461 requests to release seized vehicles.
