Sharjah24: The Breastfeeding Friends, affiliated with the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah, honoured several two-years breastfeeding mothers, mothers who faced challenges and continued breastfeeding, and mothers who breastfed children other than their own children of all nationalities, in recognition of their effort in providing healthy nutrition and care.
The ceremony was organised in conjunction with International Mother's Day, in the presence of Iman Rashid, Director of the Health Promotion Department, members of the Board of Directors, employees, several volunteers, and honored mothers and their children.
Eng. Khawla Abdulaziz Al Numan confirmed that this ceremony's organisation intends to support mothers to take responsibility for their families and society to create a healthy generation.
Engineer Khawla Abdulaziz Al Numan highlighted the importance and benefits of breastfeeding, which is one of the best sources of infant nutrition and disease prevention, emphasising that the proper nurture of children begins with breastfeeding, stressing the association's keenness to intensify its efforts to consolidate the practice of breastfeeding and provide all forms of support.
