Al Jarwan confirms UAE’s role to empower Emirati women

Sharjah24: In a scientific symposium organised by the Deanship of Student Affairs with the College of Sharia & Islamic Studies at Al Qasimia University (AQU), on the occasion of International Women's Day, Her Excellency Hanan Rashid Al Jarwan, Vice Chairman of the Sharjah Consultative Council (SCC), emphasised the Emirati women’s leading role since the early establishment of the Union until today, lauding women’s effective roles in performing their roles efficiently in various areas.

Lauding the great care and role of the wise leadership, Al Jarwan stressed that Emirati women have managed to overcome their challenges, excel in all areas of work and reach the highest positions.

She emphasised the important role played by Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of the General Women's Union (GWU), President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation (FDF), and Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher Bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of Sharjah's Ruler and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs (SCFA), in promoting the advancement and leadership of Emirati women.

The symposium titled "Women and Leadership", which was held on Wednesday morning in the public library hall of Al Qasimia University, discusssed a number of topics that highlighted the UAE's role in ensuring women’s full rights.

During the symposium, Dr. Awwad Al-Khalaf, Director of Al Qasimia University (AQU) has praised Al Jarwan’s role in communicating with Al Qasimia University and participating in the scientific symposium. He briefed her on the University's achievements and what it had implemented in accordance with the vision of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah, to consolidate its position as a global university that attracts students from all over the world.
