Sharjah 24: His Excellency Dr. Awad Al Khalaf, Chancellor of Al Qasimia University (AQU), accompanied by a group of ambassadors, consuls and the academic and administrative bodies of the university, inaugurated the Communities Forum 2023 under the theme: Love and Coexistence.
During the opening, His Excellency and the attendees inspected the pavilions participating in the forum, which numbered 61 pavilions that reflect the history and civilization of the countries to which the university students belong.

The Communities Forum, which the Deanship of Student Affairs is keen to organise, reflects its annual events and activities to highlight the cultural diversity, in light of the multiple nationalities of the students, reaching 115 countries around the world.

The forum comes this year to translate the objectives of AQU that are consistent with its strategies in working to provide an opportunity for different students to express the culture of their countries, customs, traditions, arts and heritage, and to show the nature of cultural and civilizational diversity in the university community.

His Excellency and the attendees inspected all pavilions, including 38 pavilions for males students and 23 pavilions for female students, and listened to an explanation from the students in charge of the pavilions about the idea and nature of their participation, the various exhibits, and the collections they contain that reflect the culture of their countries.

During the tour, the students introduced the history, civilization, and customs of their countries, and they displayed a number of pictures and flags related to the heritage and history of their countries' culture, industry, agriculture, and heritage sites.

The students presented many popular and heritage shows and related artistic and cultural performances of their countries, in addition to presenting popular foods in their pavilions, along with many artistic and heritage paintings inspired by folklore related to their culture.

His Excellency praised the distinction of the Community Forum 2023 in light of its great wealth and the extent of participation of students in highlighting the customs and cultures of their countries, which the university is keen on, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

His Excellency highlighted that the choice of the forum's theme, Love and Coexistence, represents an important feature that the university has been accustomed to since its establishment in 2014, from the consolidation of coexistence, to the spreading love among the students in the context of introducing them to the cultures and customs of their homelands, and allowing expression of the architectural and archaeological civilization of their countries.
