Al Qasimia University organises 1st strategic performance meeting

Held at Sharjah Safari on March 4, the meeting dealt with a set of themes related to the university's strategic plan. These included: Ways of aligning the university’s strategic objectives with the operational objectives of colleges, deanships, departments and centers; identifying key performance indicators of the operational objectives and the activities associated with them; measuring the extent to which operational objectives are achieved at the level of university's departments; and finally, improvement procedures of its strategic plan. 

The gathering was attended by Professor Dr. Awad AlKhalaf, Chancellor of AQU, vice chancellors, deans, directors of departments and centers, faculty, and the administrative staff. 

In his opening address, AlKhalaf praised the achievements made by the university in various areas. 

He reviewed the most important strategic performance indicators of AQU for the current academic year, which demonstrated that the university had achieved many goals; most notably in enhancing scientific research, participating in community development, supporting the student body, and developing mechanisms to attract more students from different countries. 

The chancellor also stressed upon the importance of strategic planning in achieving the vision and mission of the university.

During the meeting, deans and directors of departments and centers presented the results of measuring operational objectives and the extent to which the performance indicators associated with them have been achieved. They also suggested measures that need to be taken to ensure continuous improvement of the quality of the strategic plan. 

Towards the conclusion, AlKhalaf thanked His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan Bin Mohammed AlQasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, for his unconditional support and the diligent follow up by President of AQU Jamal Salim AL Turaifi, to ensure integrated strategic planning for the university’s forward-looking vision, its global mission, as well as its moderate approach in academic programs and advanced administrative system.
