SCFA launches 6th Sharjah Festival for Culture and People

The Supreme Council for Family Affairs' Culture and Media Bureau held a news conference to announce the event's details.
Deputy Director of the Culture and Media Bureau Department Latifa Ibrahim Al Darmaki had this to say about the event:

The festival has a wide range of cultural, entertainment, artistic, and educational events. The goal is to encourage community partnerships and great events at the bureau and in the community, and to bring them to places where families gather around the emirate.

The festival also aims to support the community's cultural movement in a modern, unique, and appealing way in which family members participate, to communicate the message and objectives of the Cultural and Media Bureau to the community, and to monitor audience interaction as an integral part of the event.

"As for the festival's strategic goal, it is: enhancing community trust and institutional engagement," she said.

There are many distinct goals that may be summarised as follows:

• Establishing communication between the culture and media office's programmes and the general public.
• Increasing community engagement among the Supreme Council for Family Affairs divisions and other relevant entities in the country.
• Establishing synergy between the culture and media office and the country's community institutions.

"As for the festival's partners, the Municipality of Sharjah City has been the strategic partner since our inception in the first holding of the festival, and the main sponsor is the Sharjah Electricity, Water, and Gas Authority, and the media sponsor is the Sharjah government Media Bureau," Al Darmaki added.

In this session, the Culture and Media Bureau will provide, through its festival platform, a variety of daily programmes, activities, and events emphasising the creativity of talented people, as well as their capabilities and elements of distinction in numerous sectors.

Furthermore, the Cultural Bureau and the institutions of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs will present numerous artistic, literary, and cultural programmes as well as interactive workshops in the fields of health, development, and various arts, which will be presented by specialists in these fields.

There will also be dedicated sports and health programmes, as well as cultural and entertainment contests, given by the festival's participating institutions.

There will also be a movie zone with daily screenings of children's films, educational and awareness films, and karaoke.

The office will arrange activities that promote reading in an appealing way for children and teenagers.
