Sharjah 24:Conference "Challenges of Upbringing in the Digital Era," hosted by the Sharjah Social Society at the Al Qasimia University Auditorium, featured a presentation by the Family Media Centre (FMC) of the Cultural and Media Office of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs in Sharjah.
The presentation named "The role of family and child media and its consequences on parenting" was shared by Dr. Saeed Al-Amoudi, Family Information Officer of the Cultural and Media Centre.
The working paper included a definition of the concept of family media, child media and social upbringing, identifying some of the roles of family and child media in terms of creating awareness, instilling values, exploring media energies from children and adolescents, images and contributions from our media reality, and media contributions to upbringing.
The paper also included several recommendations, including investing in the advantage parenting, in terms of striving to activate the parental advantage with other digital platforms with the aim of protecting the recipient, investing in the metaverse and how it can contribute to the preventive aspect of the challenges of digitization and its impact on upbringing, strengthening the moral aspect in schools, and others.
