Sharjah24: Teams from Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW) travelled to many Arab and European countries to acquaint with the recent innovations and technologies in the sewage and sports clubs fields .
The department started its first trip by sending a delegation to treatment facilities that employ the most advanced solar-powered sludge drying technology in order to learn about the most modern sanitation systems in the Federal Republic of Germany as opportunities for collaboration and expertise sharing were considered during the visit.

The delegation included Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Member of the Executive Council and Head of the Public Works Department in Sharjah, Engineer Abdullah Juma Al Tunaiji, Head of the Follow-up Department of the Public Services Department in the Public Works Department and Eng. Maha Malik . The delegation reviewed a detailed explanation of its departments ,stages of work, an overview of the history of its establishment and the developmental stages.

Al-Suwaidi stated that the department works according to a specific vision strive to develop the skills of national human cadres, qualify them and raise their efficiency through holding visits and establishing cooperation with major international companies. The department strives to apply the best international standards in its fields of work.

The department also organized a visit  to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, especially to the Saudi Falcons Club in the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to review the club’s departments and work system to get acquainted with best practices. 

The visit comes within the department’s  program to learn about successful experiences, and as part of the department's efforts to enhance cooperation with government agencies in the Gulf countries. The department is keen to send its employees to learn about international experiences in line with the vision and strategy of the department aimed at benefiting from global experiences .

A delegation from the Public Works Department also met with sewage specialists in the Kingdom of Sweden to learn about the latest technologies used in this field.  The delegation included Engineer Houria Al Hajri and Engineer Rashid Al Shaer from the Public Services Department.

The delegation affirmed that the outcomes of the visit support environmental strategies and employ all the material and technical capabilities to control the problems resulting from the continuous rise in the quantities of wastewater and sewage.
