Sharjah 24: The Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW) celebrated its engineers on the International Engineer’s Day, which falls on September 15 of each year.

This comes in recognition of their role in supporting the construction and development process in the United Arab Emirates, and their effective participation in promoting urban development and creating the appropriate infrastructure in the Emirate of Sharjah.

His Excellency Engineer Ali bin Shaheen Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the Sharjah Directorate of Public Works (SDPW), expressed great pride in the directorate's engineers and their great role in the success of its work system and activities during the past decades, noting that the directorate's sectors are rich in many engineering competencies and national technical cadres in various engineering and technical disciplines.

His Excellency said that Sharjah, thanks to the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has acquired all the elements of modern cities based on its heritage, cultural and architectural character, as it embraces many buildings built on modern architectural styles and distinctive constructions.
