Sharjah24: Sharjah Social Services Department (SSSD), concluded its volunteer programme ‘Initiators 5’, which aims to instill a culture of volunteer work among young boys and girls between the ages of 13 and 17, during the period from 1 to 11 August, targeting girls in its first week; Then the boys in its second week.
The volunteer programme included the implementation of 4 various volunteer, each of which was related to a field volunteer programme. Hessa Al Hammadi, Director of the Department of Community Cohesion, revealed; that this version attracted a large group of participants; Where the total number of volunteers reached about 103 volunteers, number of supervising volunteers reached about 10 volunteers, during which they carried out a total of 246 volunteer hours, while boys and girls carried out about 1401 volunteer hours.
Al Hammadi indicated that the department seeks, through these voluntary programs, to invest the youth's free time and accustom them to volunteer work, and to the external atmosphere, especially with the reception of the new school year.
