Sharjah 24: In the fifth episode of the "Your Summer in Sharjah" programme, Bakhita Mohammed Al Ketbi, Guide at the Buhais Geological Park, revealed that the park introduces its visitors to Sharjah's geological history, and its formation through different ages, and raises awareness of the geological importance of Buhais mountain and the surrounding areas.
In the fifth episode of "Your Summer in Sharjah", which is published on the "Sharjah 24" website and its social media platforms, Bakhita Muhammad Al Ketbi talked about Buhais Park, which is an eco-tourism project, that introduces its visitors to the geological history of the Emirate.
Al Ketbi reported that the Buhais Park was opened in 2020 by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, with the aim of introducing the Emirate's geological history and highlighting the importance of Buhais mountain and the surrounding areas.
She clarified that the park includes two halls, the first of which introduces the history of Sharjah and how it was formed through geological ages, and the second hall includes many fossils and rocks of Sharjah's regions and cities, in addition to the geological corridor and the showcasing of antiquities dating back millions of years.
She pointed out that the park organises many events and activities, and a documentary film is shown on how the land was formed through the ages, calling on the public to take advantage of the summer period and visit the park.
