Sharjah 24: Mohammed Saleh Al Suwaiji, Director of the Eastern Region Branch of the Sharjah Department of Culture (SDC), revealed a preliminary plan that includes organising 120 cultural programmes in literary councils in the cities of the Eastern Region during 2023.
In this context, within the activities and programmes of the literary councils in the Eastern Region for the month of May, the Department of Culture organised a training course titled "The Basics of Writing a Short Story", at the Khorfakkan Literary Council, presented by writer and author Kholoud Mohammed Al Hafiti.

Al Suwaiji said that the course targeted school students, as part of the department's directions to enhance cultural awareness, discover young talents and energies, and provide them with means of support to develop these skills.

He added that the literary councils have become an influential platform in the cultural movement in the region, which prompts the department to raise the ceiling of ambitions towards the influential role of these councils, pointing to the preparation of a preliminary plan that includes organising 120 diverse cultural programmes in the literary councils in the Eastern Region during 2023.

During the course, which was attended by about 80 students from different schools in Khorfakkan, Al Hafiti touched on the primitive roots in the story, and the methods of its circulation and writing, as she explained the types of story in literature, elements, and various styles of text writing.
