Sharjah24: Sharjah Center for Learning Disabilities (SCLD) on Tuesday, organised a symposium on language, pronunciation and learning difficulties, with the aim of enhancing community members' awareness of language and pronunciation problems and their relationship to learning difficulties, and focusing on the importance of early intervention in treating these problems.
The work of the symposium organised by the center through the feature of visual communication and in the presence of (196) participants, included a number of themes through which light was shed on learning difficulties from a linguistic perspective, phonological awareness and pre-reading skills.
Her Excellency Dr. Hanadi Al Suwaidi, Director of SCLD, confirmed the commitment of the Center, in spreading awareness and scientific knowledge of the challenges facing people with learning difficulties and identifying the best local and international practices to meet these challenges.
Al-Suwaidi reviewed the center’s pioneering efforts in providing language and pronunciation services for people with learning disabilities, noting that the center continuously provides all services and programs needed by people with learning disabilities, including speech and language therapy sessions within an environment capable of stimulating communication skills through activities directed at individual and group therapy sessions.
