Sharjah24: The Organizing Committee of The Sharjah Ports, Customs and Free Zones Authority (SPCFZA) confirmed the readiness of all authorities and ports in the emirate to receive visitors to the country during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, and to take all necessary preparations to facilitate all procedures for them to enjoy the holiday in the UAE.
This came during the meeting of the 6th Periodic Committee for the year 2022 held recently at the Khatam Milaha border port in Kalba, headed by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organizing Committee for Border Points and Ports in the Emirate of Sharjah, and attended by Colonel Ibrahim Saif Al Zaabi, Commander of the Northern Sector in the leadership of Border Guard Group, Colonel Abdulaziz Sarhan Al Zaabi, Director of Support Services at the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs in Sharjah, Lieutenant Colonel Waleed Al-Nahm, Head of the Police Department of External Ports of Sharjah Police, and Engineer Ismail Hussein, representative of the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, And Abdul Rahman Al Kindi, the committee’s rapporteur, and Khaled Karam Al Kaabi, head of the Land Ports Unit in the General Administration of Ports Security, along with a representative of the State Security Service and a representative of the Municipalities Affairs Department.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Chairman and members of the Committee extended the highest congratulations and blessings to the wise leadership of the UAE and its people and to the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the upcoming Eid al-Adha, stressing the high readiness to provide the finest services to travelers and those coming to the country during the Eid holiday and to facilitate their procedures according to the highest standards, and to ensure a complete flow to enter goods and commercial shipments, as well as to ensure the readiness of the agricultural and veterinary quarries of the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to receive various consignments.
His Excellency Mohamed Ibrahim Al-Raisi stressed the committee’s keenness, in coordination with the strategic partners, to implement the highest standards in services provided to travelers and visitors to the country during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, in a manner that befits the position of the UAE as a leading and preferred tourist destination in the region, through its constant endeavor to provide all possibilities to advance the performance of ports and the border points in the emirate and the vigorous follow-up to improve the quality of services, noting that the committee is ready to overcome the challenges that it may face during this period, especially with regard to the congestion at the western port of Dibba Al-Hisn, where a plan has been developed to deal with it in an innovative way that mitigates them.
Al-Raisi explained that the meeting dealt with a number of important topics, as the recommendations of the minutes of the fifth meeting were reviewed and approved, in addition to the observations received from the General Department of Ports Security regarding the progress of work at the ports and border points, and the necessary action was taken regarding them and the competent authorities were directed to deal with them. A set of development initiatives to be implemented at the Khatm Milaha border port were also reviewed, and the statistics received were reviewed from the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority regarding the number of users of transportation services from the Khatm Milaha port, and the committee approved the request received from the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment regarding some construction additions in the agricultural and veterinary quarry at the Khatm Milaha port, stressing the continuity of efforts aimed at developing and improving the general performance of all ports of the emirate.
