Sharjah24: The sorting committee of the Sharjah Calligraphy Forum ,has completed its work by classifying and sorting the written works participating in the general exhibition which will be launched in its 10th edition next October under the slogan "Irtiqa", organized by the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Department of Culture (DC) in Sharjah.
The committee had received 614 written works by 216 artists, and unanimously selected 317 works that vary between the original trend and modern and contemporary lines, for 146 artists from different countries of the world.


The committee was formed under the chairmanship of Khaled Al Jallaf from the UAE, and the membership of: Yousry Al Mamlouk from Egypt, Yaqoub Ibrahim from Jordan, Walid Al Agha from Syria, and Abdul Rahman Amjad from Pakistan, where the sorting process was followed up.

Professor Muhammad Al Qasir, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs in the Department and Director of the Forum, confirmed that the Sharjah Calligraphy Forum has become a global destination , appreciating the great support of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah.

The Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs indicated that receiving 614 written works from different countries of the world is an affirmation of the universality of the forum, which opens its arms to all creators, stressing at the same time that the works chosen represent the vision and spirit of the forum in its uniqueness and renewal to present the Arabic letter in a distinctive and creative way.
