In a statement, Sheikh Abdullah bin Salem said: “With great sadness and believing in Allah’s decree and destiny, today, the leader of our march and our state, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, departs us, after a life rich in serving the country, humanitarian work and generous giving in all fields, stages and responsibilities.
“He was an example of a wise leader with a keen vision, with attention to all the needs of his people, sincere in all his responsibilities and leaving a great imprint in the Arab and Islamic world.
May Allah the Almighty have mercy on our father, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may he rest in eternal peace in Paradise, and may Allah grant us and his family and the people of the Emirates patience and solace.”
