Sharjah 24: The Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah launched its remote training programmes on developing methods of teaching and learning the Arabic language. The programme focuses on training Arabic language specialists in the member states of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States (ABEGS), through a set of training courses in several areas of Arabic language teaching and learning, which affects students in ABEGS member states and raises the level of quality of achievement and targeted scientific understanding.
His Excellency Dr. Issa Al Hammadi, Chairman of Arabic Language Educational Centre for Gulf States (ALECGS) in Sharjah confirmed that ABEGS and its bodies aim through these programmes to raise the level of skills of the Arab language specialists, and to improve the level of student achievement in the member states, by providing practical applications on teaching strategies that can be used with students.
His Excellency Dr. Issa Al Hammadi explained that these programmes introduce the teacher to the appropriate strategies in terms of its terms of use, and the procedures for each strategy, so that it is easy to achieve the targeted learning outcomes on the one hand, and make learners enjoy them on the other hand.
Al Hammadi explained that the first training programme was launched on Monday, March 21, 2022 and will continue until March 23, 2022, with the participation of a number of 78 specialists including curriculum developers, mentors, Arabic language teachers and trainers for the academic stage for grades (1 -6). The training includes a set of axes and strategies, including active learning, concept and importance, teacher and learner roles, thinking strategy, divergent thinking strategy, literature circles strategy, language games and games strategy, reciprocal teaching strategy, debate strategy, blended learning strategy, and other strategies.
