Sharjah 24: Sharjah Sports Council (SSC) has recently opened the registration to the council’s running race in the university city, which will be held on Saturday, March 19, 2022.
The Council during the current year in cooperation with Al Qudra Sports Management and many institutions in the context of encouraging society to practice sports and enhancing its importance to human health.
The race targets at least 400 participants of both sexes. The race includes men and women, and the open categories for both sexes and the disabled.
On this occasion, His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami, Chairman of Sharjah Sports Council, indicated that sports and community events continue under the supervision of the Sports and Community Events Department l organising this race in the university city, and SSC is keen to spread sports and make it a way of life that stems from the visions and directives of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, and his wife, Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Muhammad Al Qasimi, President of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs, and the follow-up of His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Muhammad bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, Chairman of the Executive Council, and their support for sports and athletes of both sexes.
His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami added that the third event this year is being held in the university city, and it provides an opportunity for the disabled to participate, whereas they made achievements in the sports field thanks to the unlimited support of His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, "the advocate of the disabled", so their participation comes as an important aspect and an addition.
His Excellency Issa Hilal Al Hazami confirmed that the race is real, and all participants are welcome to instill the spirit of love for sports, in addition to spreading and strengthening the culture of individual sports, attracting young people, and motivating the community to practice sports by organising events and providing the appropriate atmosphere for all levels and ages.
Yasser Omar Al Doukhi, Director of Sports and Community Events Department, said that the University City welcomes this race and everyone hope for a new, distinctive and successful event similar to the previous ones. Yasser Omar Al Doukhi added that providing distinctive success factors for sports and community events, and continuing to confirm the success of the events that were launched in the current year, and the various groups of society of different ages contribute to their excellence.
