Sharjah24: The Jordanian capital, Amman, hosted the eighth session of the Sharjah Cultural Honours Forum, which celebrated 4 Jordanian writers: Mahmoud Fadil Al Tal, Nawal Salim Abbasi, Hani Sobhi Al Amad, and Hashem Badawi Al Gharibeh.
The honouring ceremony was held at the Royal Cultural Center in Amman, in the presence of His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah, a number of dignitaries and Jordanian intellectuals and creators, and the families of the four honoured persons.
The event was moderated by Dr. Salem Al-Daham, Director of the Royal Cultural Centre, has highlighted the Cultural Honours Forum, seeking to promote the cultural works of intellectuals.
Commenting on this, Hazza Al-Barari delivered the speech of the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, during which he lauded Sharjah’s pioneering role in supporting intellectuals and various cultural aspects in the Arab world, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, aiming to enhance the Arab cultural movement.
His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah has further praised the process of cultural cooperation between the Department of Culture in Sharjah and the Jordanian Ministry of Culture, lauding the brotherly relations between the two sides.
Al Owais stressed that Sharjah Cultural Honours Forum enhance the status of Arab culture, strengthening the brotherly relations between the United Arab Emirates and Jordan, translating the visions of the wise leadership in the two countries.
The Chairman of the Department of Culture in Sharjah expressed his thanks to the Ministry of Culture, and conveyed the congratulations of His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah to the honoreesز
The audience watched a documentary tape recording the most important cultural stations of the honored writers, reviewing the literary, intellectual and critical publications they produced over decades.
At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency Abdullah Al Owais, in the presence of dignitaries, handed over the four honorees certificates and memorial shields, in appreciation of their literary and intellectual efforts in the Arab cultural arena.
