Sharjah 24: Publishers Weekly magazine reviewed the major Sharjah cultural achievements throughout half a century, as part of its enlightening and renaissance cultural project, since His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, assumed the reins of government in the Emirate of Sharjah.
The Chairman of the Sharjah Book Authority and Editor-in-Chief, His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri, wrote the editorial entitled "50 Years of Enlightenment", where he stated that His Highness, the Ruler of Sharjah, from the beginning set culture as the cornerstone of comprehensive development, renaissance and enlightenment, whereas His Highness focused on building Man before establishing buildings, because he who possesses knowledge can build what suits their life, values and aspirations.

His Excellency Ahmed bin Rakkad Al Ameri stated in the editorial, that during half a century, Sharjah has become a cultural jewel, adding, that since January 25, 1972, His Highness has continued to give with a piercing vision, based on history, knowing the present, and foreseeing the future.

His Excellency Ahmed Al Ameri continued saying that His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah is deeply aware that culture is born for Man, for building the nation, for strengthening the Arab-Islamic identity, for correcting the false image of Arabs in the West, and for making achievements towards a comprehensive renaissance that confirms our active Arab presence on the world map.

The magazine, issued by the Sharjah Book Authority, described the record of Sharjah's achievements, the capital of cultural, as "a cultural epic that extended for five bright decades of work, and extends in geography to bring the dream of the wise ruler to his great homeland, and to different parts of the world."
