Sharjah 24: The Khorfakkan Municipality (KM)’s Youth Council, on Tuesday, organised a panel discussion on digital citizenship with the participation of a number of officials from government departments and entities in the city.
This came in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Rashid Khamis Al Naqbi, Chairman of the Khorfakkan Municipality Council, and Eng. Fawzia Rashid Al Qadi, Director of the Khorfakkan Municipality.

Dr. Fatima Al Shaer, Chairperson of the KM's Youth Council, said that the discussion panel touched on the concept of digital citizenship and the importance of promoting awareness of it because of its paramount importance in controlling practices through cyberspace.

In statements to “Sharjah 24”, she explained that the widespread use of social media among various segments of society in different ages requires the development of a legal and ethical framework to control these practices, preserve customs and traditions, achieve the supreme interests of the country, and preserve identity.
