Dr. Omar Abdul Muttaleb, Head of the Veterinary Services Division in the Municipality of Khorfakkan, revealed that the slaughterhouse is ready to operate at its maximum operational capacity during the blessed Eid Al Adha.
In his exclusive statement to "Sharjah 24", Abdul Muttaleb explained that the slaughterhouse, implemented by the Sharjah Department of Public Works (SDPW), is one of the most modern and largest in terms of area, capacity and technologies, and is the first of its kind in the Eastern Region.
He added that the slaughterhouse operates with an operational capacity of about 1,500 sacrifices per day, and the number of staff has been increased to meet the increasing public demand for sacrificing.
He continued that the Khorfakkan slaughterhouse is characterised by the application of several criteria, including adherence to the requirements of green buildings, observance of environmental protection systems by reducing heat emissions, and following a central cleaning system for slaughter halls, thus reducing the use of cleaning equipment and materials.
