During the meeting
Sharjah 24: The Organising Committee of Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah held a coordination meeting with the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), to discuss aspects of cooperation between both sides, in addition to develop the infrastructure of ports and border points and enhance transport services for departure and arrival through the land points of the Emirate.
The meeting, which was held at the headquarters of the Sharjah Roads and Transport Authority (SRTA), was attended by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organising Committee for Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Jarwan, Director of the SRTA Transportation Affairs, and a number of officials.

His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi stressed that the Organising Committee of Ports and Border Points is always keen to enhance cooperation and mutual coordination with all relevant government institutions in Sharjah, in implementation of the Sharjah government’s strategy aimed at upgrading the work system at all ports.  

His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi added that it is also in implementation of the directives of Sheikh Khalid bin Abdullah bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairman of the Sharjah Seaports, Customs and Free Zones Authority, to advance the performance of ports and border points in the Emirate of Sharjah, improve operations, simplify procedures, and develop customer and passenger services, in a way that contributes to developing and facilitating trade movement and ensuring its sustainability, embodying the spirit of integration and harmony among all concerned parties for permanent development and upgrading the general performance of all ports of the Emirate.

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Jarwan valued the committee’s role in submitting the observations and suggestions of the users of the borders to the concerned authorities to work on finding appropriate solutions. 

His Excellency Abdulaziz Al Jarwan stressed that such meetings play an important role in exchanging visions and coordinating efforts in line with the public interest and achieving common goals. 

The attendees of the meeting reviewed ways to enhance joint cooperation, in addition to discussing some related topics, such as the provision of mass transport lines between the ports of Sharjah and all Emirates within the UAE, in addition to reviewing the provision and promotion of marine transport services applying the best practices.
