Sharjah24: The Organisational Committee for Border Ports and Points in Sharjah held its second periodic meeting for the year 2021 at Khatam Al Melaha Border Port in Kalba city, during which it discussed many issues related developing workflow to improve the general performance of all ports of the emirate, in addition to reviewing the latest developments related to work at border ports that continue its works have taken all necessary measures to facilitate the flow of goods and services in accordance with the highest preventive standards and safety measures.
The meeting, which was held recently, was chaired by His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi, Director of Ports and Border Points Affairs, Chairman of the Organising Committee for Ports and Border Points in the Emirate of Sharjah, and was attended by Yasser Ali Al Shehhi, Director of the East Coast Office at the Public Authority for the Security of Ports, Borders and Free Zones, Deputy Chairman of the Committee, and a number of members of the committee.
His Excellency Mohammed Ibrahim Al Raisi affirmed the keenness of the wise leadership in the government of Sharjah to improve the performance of the ports and border points in the emirate and to improve the quality of services provided through them, indicating that the committee aims to strengthen the mechanisms of cooperation and coordination between the competent authorities operating in the ports and border points of the emirate, and to ensure the activation of controls And the security, customs and preventive measures, and the organisation of the entry and exit of people and goods there, praising the efforts of all the work teams and crews at Khatam Al Melaha Border and the Dibba Al Hisn border crossing point, stressing that the teamwork has positively affected the quality of services provided in light of the repercussions and challenges of the Covid-19 crisis.
The meeting included the ratification of the recommendations of the minutes of the first meeting that took place last January. The results and recommendations of the meeting that took place with the Omani delegation two weeks ago in Dibba Al Hisn, which included a number of Omani officials in Musandam Governorate, were discussed with the aim of exchanging views on the existing areas of cooperation between the two sides.
