Sharjah 24: The Consultative Council of the College of Communication at Al Qasimia University (AQU) discussed ways to strengthen the partnership between the college and the community. The meeting also discussed the development of academic and training programmes for students.
The council commended the great support and continuous attention given by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, founder of Al Qasimia University, and enabling it to develop in its various fields.
This came during the council's second session for the academic year 2021-2022, on Tuesday, at the headquarters of the College of Communication.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency Dr. Khalid Al Midfa, Chairmanb of Sharjah Media City (Shams) was elected Chairman of the Council, who in turn thanked His Highness Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Deputy Ruler of Sharjah for his support to the College of Communication.
The council also commended the technical equipment, television and radio studios, and their accessories such as smart newsrooms and montage rooms comparable to those on Arab satellite channels. In addition to photography studios and four laboratories for desktop publishing, graphic design and multimedia that enable them to fulfill their mission of qualifying students and keeping pace with rapid technological development in various fields.
The council listened to a detailed report from His Excellency, Prof. Hisham Abbas, Dean of the College, in which he reviewed the academic programmes of the college and its upcoming plan.
He discussed the role of the consultative council in strengthening and strengthening the college’s march, working to advance it, continuing the stages of development in the educational and academic process, and working to support visions and policies the college.
The meeting was attended by His Excellency Tariq Alai, Director General of the Sharjah Government Media Office, His Excellency Brigadier General Arif bin Hadeeb, Director of Media and Public Relations at the Sharjah Police, His Excellency Ahmed Al Houri, Director of Sports Affairs at Al Bayan Newspaper, and Dr. Bassam Al Makkawi, Head of Mass Communication Department at the College and Secretary of the Council.
